Mrs. Adams served in the U.S. Air Force for 6 years as a Security Police. For the past 19 years, she has been (and is still currently) employed at Akron Summit Community Action as a payroll accountant. She holds a dual Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and Computer Information Systems.
Prior to joining the board, John has served on boards of other not for profit organizations. His interest includes promoting access to healthcare and education for traditionally under-served populations, as well as, mental health and addiction services. John’s career in health care spans three decades beginning as a registered nurse and includes positions as director of nursing, director of employee health, regional manager and director of business development. He currently serves as the chief executive officer of a local psychiatric hospital.
Mr. Bennett has 25 years of accounting experience with The Defense Finance and Accounting Service. He served 4 years on active duty for the U.S. Air Force as well as 6 years with the Ohio Air National Guard.
Mr. Henderson served over 29 years in the U.S. Air Force in both an active duty and reserve role. He currently works at the Louis Stokes Veteran's Administration as a Human Resources Assistant. He is driven to assist homeless veterans in every way possible.
Mr. Sims is a veteran who served 7 years active duty in the U.S. Army. While in the Army, he was an Armored Crewman and The Noncommissioned Officer In-charge of the Brigade Mailroom. His overseas tours include Saudi Arabia and Germany. His goal is to positively impact every veterans' life he comes into contact with in a manner that pushes them to greatness. Ellis holds an Associate’s Degree in Computer Networking.
